Foundation laid for varsity department: ITANAGAR, Jan 28: Lower Subansiri Deputy Commissioner Kemo Lollen laid the foundation stone of Department of Paramedical Sciences and AYUSH of Indira Gandhi Technological and Medical Sciences University, Ziro at SSB Gate Campus IGTAMSU on Saturday in presence of Lower Subansiri DDSE Yumlam Tana, Chancellor of the university Arvind Kumar Das and vice chancellor Dr SN Pandey.

Lollen appreciated the efforts made by the authority of the University for introducing job oriented courses in the university. The DDSE said that IGTAMSU has always been committed towards enhancement of technology based education in the state and also requested the Chancellor to introduce soft skill development courses in the University. 1st December 2016 World AIDS Day observed across the state

At Ziro, Indira Gandhi Technological And Medical Sciences University in association with Red Ribbon Club (State AIDS Control Society, Naharlagun) and supported by Lower Subansiri District Administration organized ‘walk against HIV/AIDS’ from SSB Gate Campus to General Hospital here on Thursday to commemorate World AIDS Day.

The students, staff and Faculties of IGTAMSU lead by Pro-VC Ashish Lal and Director, Faculty of Medical & Paramedical Sciences IGTAMSU Dr Alka Lal distributed informative pamphlets among the general public. Informative banners and slogans were displayed to spread awareness among the general public.

The march was followed by a Seminar on HIV/AIDS at the University Campus and prize distribution to the winners of the poster making competition. (DIPROs)

Hospitality training Oath taking ceremony of IGTAMSU school of Nursing held ITANAGAR, Nov 19: Oath taking ceremony of 1st Batch of GNM Nursing and 2nd Batch of ANM Nursing of IGTAMSU School of Nursing was held at Abotani Hall, Ziro on Saturday.

Speaking on the occasion, Lower Subansiri DC highlighted the uniqueness of nursing as a humanitarian service and advised the students to follow the pledge of Mother Florence Nightingale at every point of their profession.

Congratulating the students Medical Superintendent, General Hospital Ziro, Dr K Horming advised them to carry out their duties with full responsibility and maintain highest standards of their profession. He promised the students of his support and guidance. The toppers of ANM second year Antung and Dopi were felicitated by gold and silver medals.

Also speaking, Chancellor IGTAMSU school of nursing, Arvind Kumar Das reminded the students to make a difference in the lives of their patients by alleviating suffering and facilitating healing. He further assured the DC that his institute will maintain highest standards of education. (DIPRO)
